  Become A Coach

We are always in need of volunteer coaches to support our FirstKick and Recreational (Rec) programs! Coaching your child's soccer team is an amazing and rewarding experience. Valor Soccer will provide you with everything you need for a successful season, including practice equipment and lesson plans for training sessions. 

  What Does It Take To Be A Coach?

  • Be a good person and a leader to your players

  • Show up to practices and games

  • Laugh and smile as often as you can, and don’t be afraid to have fun!

To ensure the safety of all our players, all coaches and team personnel are required to complete the following safety courses and a background check:

​

  1.  SafeSport - renewal required annually 

  2. Introduction to Safe and Healthy Playing Environments (Intro to Safety) - renewal required annually 

  3.  Risk Status (Background Check) - resubmission required annually every April

​

These courses will take 2-3 hours. Please budget enough time in your schedule to fully complete them before the start of the season. As a thank you for their volunteerism, Head Coaches of FirstKick and Rec teams will be reimbursed for their child's registration fees. To receive your reimbursement, your safety trainings and certifications must be completed by Aug. 23.

  How To Register

Step 1: If you have not done so already, set up your PlayMetrics account. PlayMetrics accounts are family accounts. This means everyone's profile lives under one account, including players, parents/guardians, and any additional contacts you invite to join your account.

Step 2: While registering your child for FirstKick or Rec, you will indicate that you are interested in a team volunteer position for the program.

Step 3: You will then fill out a Coach Request to choose your team role (Head Coach or Assistant Coach), Program Location, Preferred Practice Day, and other coaching information.

Step 4: The Team Code/Player Invite Email feature no longer exists in PlayMetrics. If you have a group of players that you plan to coach for the upcoming season, please contact families to inform them that you are coaching! They will list your name during registration. Be aware of the Roster Size for the program and age group you are coaching.

Step 5: Stay in contact with your program director to monitor your roster since the Team Code/Player Invite Email feature no longer exists. 

 

If you're interested in coaching but did not indicate so during program registration or you do not have an associated player in FirstKick or Rec, contact your Program Director, and they will help you complete a Coach Request.
